Today in class we continued to learn more about patterns and real world application of them through word problems and multiple choice problems.

In social science we finalized the mark rubric for our project, it will be posted after this blog.  The class only has 4 social studies left to finish, practice, and polish their 'Region of Alberta' project.

During LA, we finished review the narrative elements we've learned throughout the unit to prepare for the early stages of the writing process.  As well, we had a group discussion about boring words, such as nice.  The class made their own list as to what words are useless, no detail, and just are plain boring.  The lifeless words were transferred to a larger paper and students worked in groups to create better words for them and how to show them through figurative language, like a simile.  With a timer and in groups, the class was set to a boring word station and attempted to add vivid detail to it.  The class rotated to all the stations; this will help them when drafting their stories to avoid mistakes and focus on new details, which keep the reader engaged.

In the afternoon, students were given back their maths tests to review and look over.   They had to fill out the green paper and create a goal they can achieve.  As well, we blogged about am image, and discussed how to bring a picture to life through words.

Overall, it was a great day for all learners!

We hope you have a terrific Tuesday!!
