Today in class we had a guest speaker about financial money and how to spot adds that are just trying to get us to spend more; it was a very useful presentation!
In social we put on our law maker caps and created some new municipal by laws for Calgary, provincial acts for Alberta, and laws for Canada. Once in groups we picked some of our favorites to use for our made up countries, provinces, and cities.
We also continued to explore the role and impact provincial government has on municipalities and their relationship with the federal government.
During LA we started a new unit: poetry! We explored what is poetry, and how it is similar and different than prose writing. We read some poems and quotes from famous others about what poetry is, and learned the rules of reading poetry. Tomorrow we will be diving into our first type of poem. a haiku.
In the afternoon we had new spelling words (LA and social) and worked on discovering their definitions before we could use them in a sentence.
We hope everyone has a magical Monday!
