Reminders
1. Spelling sentences due tomorrow!!
2. Spelling Test Friday
3. Science title page / article due Thursday
4. Road Map of school neighborhood / your neighborhood due Monday
5. Swimming forms and $27 due FRIDAY - we need them in Friday so the pool can make the groups before we get there Monday.
6. ANY missing class contracts (purple) and digital citizenship forms (yellow) ASAP
In math we practiced long division problems of all sorts. This will continue all week and maybe into the first week of October as revision is needed.
In science today we had a work period for the work due on Thursday for half the lesson. The other half, a leaf project was introduced. Once it has been explained the rubric will be posted to allow parents to know how it will be graded. This project counts for big marks towards our Trees and Forests science unit.
In LA we read, "Catching the Moon" as a class to explore the elements of a narrative. The class had to analyze and explore the story to find all the elements of the story mountain within the tale.
Our afternoon was a little bit different than normal. A chunk of grade 6s had to go to patroller training. We joined classes with 2-grade 1 classes for the rest of the day. The grade 6s worked extremely well with the younger students. We did reading buddies, gym, and watched movie about insects, and the environment. After the movies the students had to draw their favourite scene with the grade 1s, as a team. We did not have enough time to finish this, but a big thank you to our classes for being great leaders and responsible students!
We hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday!
